Effective Communication Skills!
Methodology used by our Institute is focused on direct and communicative approaches. Thus, our Spanish courses are based on active student participation.
We use the total immersion method of language learning. Spanish are taught in a dynamic and motivating way. We are sure the active communication in classes is the most effective way of learning Spanish and by speaking students will achieve fluency.
Spanish lessons in Amazonas Spanish School are a perfect combination of different skills and areas of language learning:
- Reading Comprehension
- Writing
- Listening
- Grammar and Vocabulary
- Oral Expression
We focus on practical learning, but specially in a real learning based on the experiences and customs of the culture and traditions of Ecuador and the Spanish-speaking world.
We have 4 Spanish levels:
Begginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Superior.
Our Syllabus are made according to the Curriculum Plan of Instituto Cervantes of Spain and the Common European Framework for Language teaching:
- Basic User: A1 and A2
- Independent User: B1 and B2
- Proficient User: C1 and C2

| Basic Users | A1 | Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. |
| A2 | Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. | |
| Independent Users | B1 | Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. |
| B2 | Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. | |
| Proficient Users | C1 | Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. |
| C2 | Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations. |
Materials Required
Amazonas Spanish School has developed new and different Spanish programs in order to offer our students the best options to learn the language in a natural, quick and effective way.
Amazonas over many years of hard work has developed new curriculum in Spanish and now is proud to offer its own books specially prepared to teach a practical and useful Spanish, easily understood grammar rules and very easy to put it immediately in practice.
“But mostly routed according to level, objectives and goals of our students”.
Students with Spanish knowledges must take a placement test the first day of classes with us in order to determine their assesment level. Teacher and student after this test will design a customized study plan.
Amazonas Spanish Text books and all the additional materials of study are provided by our School.
We also work with modern Textbooks of the Spanish-speaking world, reading books, videos, audio material, presentations, interviews, debates, exhibitions, round tables, games and dynamics related to learning Spanish, movies, journals according to specific topics, newspapers, among others.
